SAMUEL SALAMONE

EIGHT THEATRE WORKSHOPS FOR A PREPARED AND IMPACTFUL BODY

Workshops designed to maximize the actor’s creative and stage capabilities.

1 - WORKSHOP “THE TECHNIQUES OF THE GREATS”

We will use The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde as working material.

  1. Analysis of the text and the author.
  2. Listening to transitive action.
  3. Character development, its tics and internal architecture.
  4. Exploration of creative reactions through structured improvisations.

Over twenty hours of work or more, I will guide the participants through a journey that comes from my own experience and from what I have learned alongside the great masters I have worked with: from the brilliant play of comedy to the most intimate exploration of the character.

A training designed to bring the text to life, serve its structure, and at the same time maintain creative freedom, precision, and stage truth even in high-pressure contexts.

2 – STAGE FIGHTING

Through practical exercises, participants will learn safe hand-to-hand combat techniques.

The approach:

  • Understanding the technical repertoire

  • Choreographing safe fight scenes

  • Creating dynamic scenes

3 - THE ACTOR, DIRECTOR

Three days to discover how to combine the actor’s process with the director’s vision.

We will explore how the actor can become their own director.

  • Develop stage awareness: through directing exercises, you will discover how to view the scene from both angles.

  • Build more conscious performances: you will learn to direct yourself and others, enhancing your understanding of theatrical storytelling.

  • Creative collaboration: you will strengthen your ability to work as a team, creating rich and engaging scenes both as an actor and a director.

4 – CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT LABORATORY

An intensive laboratory focused on character construction through physical, imaginative, and structural tools, designed for both performers and actor-directing processes.

Through exercises such as Circle Game and Line Exercise, the work develops focus, presence, intention, relationship, physicality, and listening, offering concrete frameworks to build characters in a rigorous, organic, and creative way.

The process guides participants from physical exploration and stage decision-making to the integration of text, music, costume, and other external elements as active tools in performative creation.

Designed as a practical and methodological training, the workshop offers an in-depth exploration of how a character is born, sustained, and transformed, providing a shared vocabulary, interpretative precision, and tools applicable both to acting and to actor direction.

5 – WORKSHOP “MONSTERS AND WONDERS”

An intensive workshop dedicated to unlocking creativity and discovering one’s own histrionic nature.

Through physical work, guided transformations, extreme improvisations, and the exploration of archetypes and singing, I guide artists to encounter their most unexpected parts: the “monsters” that hold them back and the “wonders” they release.

It is a training that pushes participants to overcome limits, break habits, expand gesture and thought, opening new expressive possibilities.
