Mi Querida España is a parable about time, love, and transformation.
Samuel, a Sicilian doctor who flees on his wedding day to escape a life he never truly felt was his, abandons everything to pursue a fierce dream: to try to become who he truly longs to be.
An actor? A gay man? A pink bull? A failure? A "Free" man.
His wound begins in childhood, when a carnival costume made with the “wrong” colors and a hidden poster of a famous sex symbol, Raoul Bova, trigger a violent family explosion. That brutality transforms desire and identity into a foundational scar.
Years later, in Valencia, he meets Pablo: the man he falls in love with. Pablo is light, desire, freedom… but also limited time. He is hiding a terminal cancer, and when Samuel discovers that death has already begun its countdown, everything changes.
Time becomes urgency.
Because it is no longer only about fulfilling his own dream, but about crossing through pain, distance, and the violence of the world of entertainment, before it is too late.
It is Pablo who ignites the journey and pushes Samuel towards Carmen Libera, a cinematic version of Bizet’s opera, where Samuel will become the bullfighter…
Thus begins a fierce race against time: while Pablo fades away, Samuel moves through the world of cinema, the arena, bullfighting, the unresolved, sacrifice, dreams, authenticity, and love.
