Samuel Salamone is an Italian actor, director, and trainer, a permanent member of Emma Dante’s company (a director awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the 2026 Venice Biennale).
For over ten years, he has worked as an actor in the theatre and opera productions of the company, taking part in international tours across some of the major theatres and festivals in Europe and Asia. He performs on leading Italian stages and international institutions such as the Piccolo Teatro di Milano, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Greco di Siracusa, Teatros del Canal in Madrid, Théâtre National de la Colline in Paris, and the Grand Théâtre de Genève, as well as major festival contexts such as the Edinburgh International Festival, the Aranya Theatre Festival in China, and international festivals in Antalya, Turkey.
Alongside his work as an actor, he develops a directing career creating theatrical performances, events, and complex formats from original concepts, coordinating multidisciplinary teams. With a background in filmmaking, he has cultivated since an early age a strong vocation for directing and production, with a growing focus on cinema and feature film development. He also works as a theatre coach, supporting artists and professionals in the development of their projects.
As a trainer, he leads international workshops in physical theatre, performance, and communication.
His training is multidisciplinary, spanning theatre, dance, film, and visual arts. He has trained with masters and artists such as Ohad Naharin (Batsheva Dance Company) and Julie Anne Stanzak (Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch), developing a practice focused on the body and presence as the central axis of his work across theatre, opera, film, puppet theatre, and contemporary creation in high-level international contexts.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with major directors such as Antonio Latella, Robert Carsen, and Matthias Hartmann, and in his early years with Franco Zeffirelli. He holds a diploma in Cinematography and Applied Arts and a degree in Advertising and International Communication.
In 2014, he wins the national title of Miss Drag Queen Italia, an experience that deeply shapes his research on transformation, identity, and the use of the body as an expressive tool.
